5 Steps to a Healthy Gut

Looking to improve your gut health naturally? A balanced Gut Flora (i.e., Healthy Bacteria of Gut) is key to your general wellbeing, and what you eat is an influential factor in your gut’s health. The diversity of Gut flora is reflective of the overall health of a person. High diversity generally means Good Health, and Low Diversity corresponds with Poor Health.

It may all sound serious, however, it’s easy to take care of your Gut by following these five simple steps:

1. Have enough fiber

Dietary fiber or roughage is the portion of plant-derived food that cannot be completely broken down by human digestive enzymes. Eat more fiber. You’ve probably heard it before. But do you know why fiber is so good for your health? The fiber is found mainly in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes is the best way to increase the diversity of the Gut flora.

Fiber is also known for its ability to prevent or relieve constipation, weight management, lowering your risk of diabetes, heart disease, and some types of cancer.

2. Limit Packaged Food

Your taste buds might not listen to you, but packaged foods such as chips, biscuits, chocolates, etc. are high in saturated fat. High saturated fat levels can elevate the amount of Bilophila Wadsworth. This bacteria is okay in moderate amounts. However, a high amount of Bilophila Wadsworth can cause trouble for your Gut.

3. Limit Artificial Sweeteners

Artificial sweeteners could alter the human gut flora, resulting in a negative impact on glucose metabolism in the body. Artificial sweeteners are commonly found in low sugar or ‘diet foods’, such as diet soft drink, low energy desserts. Research in humans is now suggesting the effects of artificial sweeteners may be contributing to metabolic syndrome and the obesity epidemic.

4. Do Your Best to Avoid Unnecessary Antibiotics and Medications

Many types of medications—such as antacids, hormone replacers, steroids, and NSAIDs—are harmful to your good gut flora, so find natural alternatives whenever possible. Antibiotics, both in the food supply and as medicine, also tend to wipe out your good bacteria along with the bad indiscriminately, so only take them if necessary and consider supplementing with a probiotic in conjunction to help maintain your healthy microbial balance.

5. Look for Natural Supplements

You need to eat, and so do your Gut, so why not do some double duty? Natural Supplements contain herbal extracts such as Turmeric, Ginger, Black Pepper, Long Pepper, Harad, Curry leaves, etc. that nourish and feed all the healthy bacteria in your gut. Including these supplements in your diet will help to ensure that the colonies of good bacteria are flourishing.

Yogic Secrets AyurGut is the perfect combination of herbs for your Gut Health. AyurGut combines the power of nature with the support of science to target the problems associated with Gut.
