We all experience trauma facing the first appearance of one wrinkle or grey hair. It indicates aging, and we are not happy to be reminded about it with changes like this that affect our appearance. However, these are unavoidable changes. With a good beauty regime throughout, you can keep wrinkles at bay slightly longer. Or they may not appear as prominent if you are blessed with good skin. However, wrinkles are a part of aging. The best we can do is to take good care of our skin. And that does not necessarily mean expensive Botox and skin treatments. We are often driven by how others look and what they do. However, where a beauty regime is concerned, what works for your neighbor or your sister, or your daughter, may not be what works for you. The truth is no beauty treatment can completely stop wrinkles from appearing. At least, not naturally. Cosmetic treatments are not worth the effort and the money. Nor should you believe someone who tries and sells you the perfect anti-wrinkle creams and lotions. They can only do so much, and sometimes, not even that.

Each individual’s skin is different and needs a different regime. If you are troubled with your skin, you could visit a dermatologist, who will suggest the best routine you can follow. These are not cosmetic treatments and maybe creams and lotions that suit your skin type. You could use the typical Indian home remedies like coconut oil or turmeric, etc., to supplement these regularly.

Myth – Moisturizing Skin Regularly Will Prevent Wrinkles

Even if you have not taken care of your skin till now, you could start with a simple beauty regime now. Use moisturizers to ensure your skin stays hydrated. It is good to use sunscreen creams when you go out, as it prevents skin from further damage from the sun. You can also follow some easy home remedies that you will find mentioned below. However, all these will not stop wrinkles; they will only make them less noticeable. Use moisturizers immediately after the bath and again at night if you have dry skin. Hydrate yourself during the day, even in winter, to ensure your skin stays healthy. During winter, skin issues usually crop up, and issues like eczema flare up. You should visit a dermatologist if you feel more itching.  Similarly, in summer, you can apply ice cubes on the skin if it is too hot. It helps reduce wrinkle formation due to heat damage.

Home Remedies

Diet – Diet is a huge part of the skin regime, though most people pay no attention to it and end up spending on beauty treatments. Include green leafy veggies, turmeric, and fresh fruits like mango, avocado, banana, papaya, oranges, apple, etc. in your diet to ensure the skin gets the required nutrients to prevent aging before time. Include carrots, sweet potatoes, and yam in vegetables to get the same effect. Some other veggies good for skin health are broccoli, bottle gourd, and bitter gourd. Fish and fish oil also help keep skin healthy and glowing. Include yogurt in your daily meal plan.

Face masks – Homemade face masks using banana, yogurt, lemon juice, honey, egg whites, cucumber peels, aloe vera, etc., are easy to apply and remove. Please ensure you do not have any allergy to any of these items before following the respective recipes. If nothing, you could massage using coconut oil or olive oil. You could apply mashed bananas or cucumber juice and wash it off after some time. It cleanses and soothes your skin. These are inexpensive home remedies to help your skin heal and make your wrinkles look lesser. They cannot prevent or remove your wrinkles.

Accept the change

Despite expensive treatments, people age, and wrinkles appear. We must learn to accept this change as a part of aging. That does not mean we should not take pride in our appearance or stop our skin regime. To look good and feel better, smoothen the wrinkles with your beauty regime. Remember, expensive doesn’t necessarily help and may even harm. Instead, adopt simple diet changes and home remedies and take pride in your appearance. That will give you the confidence to move ahead, despite a few wrinkles.
